Search Templates - #back to top

This page allows you to create unlimited search templates with various options and styles per template. That way you are not limited to one design only whole over the wbesite for different number of filters and can create different styling options for each filter which means you can have different coloured layouts for different filters in same website.


Search Options - #back to top

  1. Post Type - This option allows you to choose a post type for which you want to show search results with this search template. This option is required to show search bar on front end.
  2. Taxonomy - This option allows you to choose a specific taxonomy ( eg: Categories, Tags ) which you want to add as a dropdown in the search bar. Leave it un-selected and it will not show any dropdown within search bar.
  3. Recent Searches - Label - This option allows you to set the heading of Recent Searches section within search bar template. This section shows when user focus/click on search bar.
  4. Recent Searches - Limit - This option allows you to set maximum number of recent searches to show in above section.
  5. Trending Searches - Label - This option allows you to set the heading of Trending Searches section within search bar template. This section shows when user focus/click on search bar.
  6. Trending Searches - Limit - This option allows you to set maximum number of trending searches to show in above section.
  7. Auto Suggestions - Show Image - This option allows you to show/hide image in Auto Suggestion section. This section shows when user start typing in search bar.
  8. Auto Suggestions - Limit - This option allows you to set maximum number of auto suggestions to show in above section.
  9. Keyword - Label - This option allows you to set the placeholder of keyword field in search bar template.

Custom Styles - #back to top

This section allows the administrator to use custom styling options for particular template. In case you are not sure about the colours, you can leave it as it is and it will come up with a default template.


Widget #back to top

Search Form

  • Title - This option follows other widgets in order to display widget title on front end.
  • Search Templates - This option allows you to choose one search template from your created search templates. You can create unlimited search templates through this page easily.

Recent Searches

  • Title - This option follows other widgets in order to display widget title on front end.
  • Post Type - This option allows you to choose a particular post type for which you want to show recent searches list. Leave it un-selected and it will show a combine list of search results from all post types.
  • Limit - This option allows you to restrict maximum number of search results in widget.

Trending/Top Searches

  • Title - This option follows other widgets in order to display widget title on front end.
  • Post Type - This option allows you to choose a particular post type for which you want to show trending searches list. Leave it un-selected and it will show a combine list of search results from all post types.
  • Limit - This option allows you to restrict maximum number of search results in widget.

Search Form

[wpse_search id="XX"]
  • id - Use your created search template ID under this parameter. You can find complete shortcode for each template under search templates listing page easily rather looking for the ID of template.

Recent Searches

[wpse_recent_searches post_type="XX" limit="XX"]
  • post_type - This option allows you to use a particular post type for which you want to show recent searches list. Leave it unblank to show a combine list of search results from all post types.
  • Limit - This option allows you to restrict maximum number of search results.

Trending/Top Searches

[wpse_trending_searches post_type="XX" limit="XX"]
  • post_type - This option allows you to use a particular post type for which you want to show trending searches list. Leave it unblank to show a combine list of search results from all post types.
